*Any trigger warnings? 

This is a Dark Fantasy read, and therefore, the elements of horror, profanity, and gore are a large part. However, the main plot of Dust is purely transformational and involves overcoming a disease that is meant to destroy the main character. This is where my warning lies: if you are someone who has been affected by cancer or a chronic illness, this can be triggering or beneficial to your own transformation, depending on where you are in your personal journey. So take caution and give yourself grace, and most of all, I am here if you need to reach out. 

*Why did you write Dust? 

About halfway through my nursing career, I realized I needed a way to let my own emotions through as I coped with how my patients fought their cancer and their individual journeys. Death is a large part of my career, and I strive to help my patients (and anyone) with their acceptance of it. This novel is exactly that! It is equally a devotion to my own grandma, who passed away from breast cancer long ago, but who is still with me every day. Love you grandma!
